Rooted Wednesdays Vol. 39 Desiring more, lacking nothing

What's on my hair -
Gently pulled to the back, with a little gel on my edges. I'm leaning into the boring lately. I've been craving a change, wanting to do something different with my hair, but I'm learning that I don't have to let that feeling rush me into my next choice.
What's on my heart -
Every now and then, I catch myself thinking about what my hair is lacking. But I don't want to spend my life focused on what's missing. My life is far too full to keep assigning myself a story of lack.
I've shared this thought before, and honestly, I hesitated to share it again today. But I'm realizing that confronting the same thoughts and beliefs over and over doesn't mean I'm not making progress in releasing them.
For a long time, I've measured my progress by how closely my current circumstances resemble my ideal outcome. And when they don't match, it's easy to overlook everything happening in between.
But I can desire change without being dissatisfied with where I am. I can revisit an old thought without returning to an old belief. And I can allow things to be simple without assuming something needs to change.
A little reminder for us both this week:
There's nothing wrong with desiring more. Just don't let that desire convince you that what you have, or who you are today, isn't enough.
From my wash day to yours. 💌
