Rooted Wednesdays Vol. 38 Someone else's certainty isn't yours

Hair -

I've been deep conditioning with cholesterol for the past three weeks straight, and it's been a smooth couple of wash days.

I vividly remember that first session. No itching, no discomfort. I had my grocery bag tied just right 😂. Nothing tight, pulling, or heavy. It was nice. I even caught up on a few pages of a book.

That moment came with so much ease. I'm grateful for those little moments.

Heart -

In my recent YouTube video, I mentioned that it's possible to try products with curiosity rather than certainty that they're the holy grail you've been missing.

I think it's easy to be recommended, inspired, or even convinced to try something new with the certainty that it'll work wonders for you because it worked wonders for someone else.

Not only is it easy to convince people online that you love a product, but even when that love is genuine, someone else's confidence doesn't have to become your certainty.

Uncertainty and I have been wrestling a lot lately.

Trying new things can be hard because they come with questions. Where will this lead? Will it be good? Will I regret this?

And I think sometimes we want certainty before making a choice because we believe it'll protect us from making the wrong one.

But I'm learning that trusting myself doesn't mean knowing exactly how things will turn out. It means trusting that when certainty meets uncertainty, I'll figure out what to do next.

Because it wouldn't be the first time I have.

From my wash day to yours. 💌
