Rooted Wednesdays Vol. 6 You are not behind, you're just growing at human speed

What's on my heart ❤️

Lately, I’ve been noticing how often I tell myself I’m behind.

Behind financially.
Behind creatively.
Behind spiritually.
Behind the version of myself I thought I’d be by now, or at least the version I want to be right now.

But the same way I learned how to listen to that voice, I can learn how to listen to another.

Many of us learned that life should move fast, that growth should be obvious, measurable, and constantly visible. That if progress isn’t dramatic, it must not be happening.

But hair taught me something different.

When I look at my hair every day or even wash it every week, it feels like nothing is changing.

Yet months later, there’s length. Strength. Health. Proof that quiet consistency was working the whole time.

Growth was happening at human speed, not internet speed.

And human speed is slow enough to feel uncomfortable.

It looks like:
healing before clarity,
rest before momentum,
small choices repeated when nobody is watching.

It looks like trusting processes you can’t measure yet.

I am not late.
I am not falling behind.
I am growing in real time.

I’m practicing staying where my feet are and trusting they are exactly where they’re supposed to be.

Because growth that lasts usually happens quietly.

And maybe the goal isn’t to move faster.
Maybe it’s to move faithfully at the pace your life can actually hold.

From my wash day to yours 🤍
Jas
